Camera Lens: Canon 70- 200mm f2.8L IS II USM Lens

This isn’t particularly a shoot I was happy with but I did achieve my goal of getting a candid shot.

I will admit this was a happy mistake as I was testing out the camera and its setting. The background is completely blurred out and the composition is spot on with the subject.

There was an image that I submitted which showcased a contrast in emotion. You can’t necessarily see the green shrined players face but he is correct fully blurred out whilst the celebrating players are in the middle of the frame.

A number of the posed celebration pictures with the plaque shield didn’t come out as I would have liked. A number of people are cropped off when I should have used the wide angle lens at my disposal.

Looking at Fatih Akita’s photo of Paul Pogba celebrating in the World Cup final, you can see the range of emotion. Not every player has their head in the frame, but it is evident you can see dejection by the body movements of one player and ecstasy in the other.

This isn’t necessarily a strong image in regards to composition, framing or sharpness but it is one which is telling the story better.

This image taken by Dan Mullan of Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a candid photograph. Although in this picture he is staring into the lens which kind of takes away the illusion of photography. This isn’t meant to be a posed portrait and is instead meant to be capturing a moment between the subject and fans.

This photo has a blurred out background which compliments the photograph, however only the face and shirt is in focus, with his hands due to the quickness of them moving are blurred, this is motion blur. Had Mullan increased his shutter speed, he may have got the hands in focus. It still, however, is a good shot.

My image of Ynyshir Albions manager Craig Wells works as he is deep in thought and could be used for an article which focuses on his thoughts.
